Desktop Support/Help Desk Assistant - Connecticut Office

ASG Information Technologies has an immediate need for a Desktop Support/Help Desk Assistant. Please note that this position requires US Citizenship.

Job Summary

The Desktop Support Technician role primary responsibilities will be to assist staff with technical support of desktop computers, applications and related technology. The Help Desk Assistant role will assist with Help Desk duties.

  • Support includes specification, installation and testing of computer systems and peripherals within established standards and guidelines.
  • Activities require interaction with application software and operating systems to diagnose and resolve unique, non-recurring problems.
  • The position utilizes one-on-one consultancy to end users and Network staff. Alerts management to recurring problems and patterns of problems.
  • Assist with the installation, configuration and ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment and software with established standards and guidelines.
  • Works with Help Desk and Network Operations staff as appropriate to determine and resolve problems received from users.
  • Must be able to interact with numerous computer platforms in a multi-layered client server environment.
  • Ensure desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, computer conferencing systems,

Job Requirements

  • 3-4+ years of technical experience in an SMB helpdesk or desktop support role.
  • Direct experience with hands-on Desktop Support.
  • Knowledge of and experience troubleshooting Windows 7 and 10.
  • Basic Hardware and software troubleshooting.
  • Must be able to interact with numerous computer platforms in a multi-layered client server environment.
  • Familiarity with ticketing and time tracking processes.
  • Must be knowledgeable with the concepts and policy controls of Active Directory.
  • Knowledge of and experience with printer mapping, LAN/WAN network configuration and troubleshooting, as well as VPN client connectivity.
